GNOSS patrocina #LILE 2015 "Learning & Education with the Web of Data" en el marco de la 24 International World Wide Web Conference

GNOSS patrocina el LILE 2015 "Learning and Education with the Web of Data", un espacio de reflexión sobre de qué manera se está configurando un Internet Educativo en Linked (Open) Data, en el marco de la 24 International World Wide Web Conference (Florencia, Italia, 18-22 May 2015). El objetivo principal del mismo era "to discuss approaches making use of Web Data and related technologies, especially Linked Data, for teaching, learning and education"

El manifiesto del programa señala que "the widespread adoption of Linked Data and derivations, such as Microformats, has led to the availability of vast amounts of public data a such as DBpedia, WordNet RDF or the data.gov.uk initiative, ranging from domain-specific expert vocabularies to, for instance, data about cultural heritage (e.g., the Europeana dataset), which has the potential to fundamentally aid and transform the production, delivery and consumption of educational services and content".

El ganador al mejor paper ha sido un libanés por un trabajo realmente interesante:

gnoss.com newsletter: The power of learning together: first year of gnoss.com

    Hi gnossonaut!

A society on the Network, a network of networks, a network with brain... Many times you’ve asked me what gnoss.com is. Well, if tomorrow, September 4th 2010, when gnoss.com is celebrating its first year online, you ask me what we do, I’m quite sure about it: LEARNING. During these twelve months, we’ve talked, shared content, discussed how we could improve our services... and, above all, we’ve learned a lot from each other. We are a lively community which is close to 5,000 users and has long exceeded the 400 communities. All this would not have been possible without you. So THANK YOU VERY MUCH. But never mind the past, let’s focus on what is coming because you have to keep on helping us...

    gnoss.com Educational Project

Over the past few weeks, the gnoss.com Team has been heavily involved in the development of two new educational projects. Before telling you about them, let’s review some history. As you might know, since our launch in September 2009, we’ve been making a great effort to offer you and share with you an open space for Education on the Internet. Some communities like Didactalia, La Otra Escuela (the other school) Forma, or University 2.0 are a result of that. But let’s go further.

In this course start 2010/2011 we are working on two new initiatives: GNOSS University 2.0 and GNOSS Expanded Education. Both projects have had a preliminary test with professors and students of Economics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Up to 400 students have used gnoss.com communities to work and study their subjects. The result couldn’t be better. If you have a minute, I prefer them to tell you an experience that demonstrates the power of informal learning.

Good results have led us to extend the project to all those teachers, professionals, centers… who want to bet on a new way of teaching and learning in college. This is the GNOSS University 2.0 project, which you can join now if you wish. At the same time, throughout this month we will expand the project with teachers and students of High School and Vocational Training through GNOSS Expanded Education.

    More things, easier

The projects we’re telling you about don’t make sense without a smarter technology that helps you do more things more easily and successfully. This is the goal of our development team. In the coming months we'll surprise you. As an appetizer, try our faceted search engine prototype.

Shall we go on learning? I’ll wait for you in gnoss.com ;-)

    Best regards,

Puedes votar, hacer comentarios e incluso añadir nuevas Debilidades, Amenazas, Fortalezas y  Oportunidades. …

Weekly GNOSS newsletter: enjoy the ‘on line’ Encyclopedia 'on line' of educational materials

    Hi gnossonaut,

we want to congratulate you for your work and confidence in the  gnoss.com education project. Open communities like Universidad 2.0, Didactalia, La otra escuela (The other school), Forma and Promete already have 450 members who daily do their bit to build an innovative educational space on the Net. Their passion for Education translates into more than 4,000 resources available to any teacher, teaching professional, parent or student who wants to consult them.

In this newsletter we emphasize the efforts made in Didactalia. This community aims to be the open social web where teachers and Education enthusiasts can share educational materials that they create for their students. There are many educational resources scattered across the Web. Didactalia offers a rich collection of educational contents where one can find materials on dynamic geometry, handwriting workbooks generators, interactive games to learn numbers in French, chemistry experiments... Didactalia is the Encyclopedia of quality educational materials on the Web. Do you want to collaborate?

GNOSS guide for… performing a SWOT analysis
The SWOT is a collective thinking tool that expresses the perception of a group in relation to its resources and future, its Strenghts, Weaknesses, Oportunities and Threatens. It is a strategic tool used in every type of environments. gnoss.com has created a collaborative SWOT service that enables a collective analysis by the members of its communities. The SWOT result unifies the visions of several experts and offers some conclusions based on statistical analysis. Do you want to perform a SWOT analysis?

Did you know that in GNOSS you can...
    create a University 2.0 project?
In previous newsletters, we have thought about how collaborative environments can define the university of the future, what we call University 2.0. If you are a professor, we propose that you manage your course or a working group from gnoss.com. You can create your class and a knowledge area to assess and work the contents of a subject with your students.

gnoss.com communities become knowledge areas that enable to view and find the documents necessary to give a class and, why not, generate discussion around the topics covered. Work units are shared as resources that can be redone, commented, voted ... In this way, the professor doesn’t have to be sending emails, attachments... He builds and shares knowledge in the community and his students access it, communicate and work together with him. gnoss.com allows that this activity takes place with the privacy you want: communities can be fully public or reach a maximum privacy. And how do you evaluate this work? Through an organization account in gnoss.com which turns into the class to manage the activity and student work. Do you want more information?

Enjoy GNOSS! We innovate with you.
