Weekly gnoss.com newsletter: GNOSS University 2.0

    Hi gnossonaut!

Education is one of the topics we are more concerned about, since we are a social network and internet users who believe in Web 2.0 as a tool to improve and accelerate learning. From gnoss.com, we have promoted communities like Didactalia, Forma or La otra escuela (The other school) where you can find all kinds of educational material and content about training and innovation in teaching. Those are our proposals but we’d love to have new ideas and educational communities in gnoss.com. We’ll listen to you ;-)

    GNOSS University 2.0

In this newsletter we are presenting you the results of the GNOSS 2.0 University initiative, which we have carried out this year with a pilot experience in the Faculty of Economics at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
GNOSS University 2.0 is a higher education approach aimed at improving, enriching and accelerating student learning in college thanks to the possibilities of social networks. It’s not about traditional e-learning, which paradigm is Moodle, which too often has used internet as an educational space to do the same than in the classroom but with other media. If you are interested in the proposal and want more information about it, we invite you to read how and why GNOSS University 2.0 was born.

    Students’ and professors’ opinion

Participation, knowledge management, flexibility... These are the advantages of GNOSS University 2.0 outlined by some of the 400 students who have studied from gnoss.com communities this year. We don’t tell you about it, students do it themselves. You can see them on our YouTube channel. Encouraged by the success of the experience, we want to extend the GNOSS University 2.0 project to other colleges and universities. Can we count on you? If you’re interested in creating your gnoss.com class, we’ll help you.
You needn’t wait. If you wish, you already can work in the GNOSS University 2.0 space. We suggest this video tutorial to create your own class and subject. What if you are a student? If you are having fun in social networks like Tuenti or Facebook... why don’t you enjoy the classes in gnoss.com? Tell your professor ;-)

Enjoy gnoss.com! We innovate with you.

    Hi gnossonaut!

Last weekend we launched the GNOSS Open Data Competition in Riojaparty. During the event, we receive many requests for information on how to participate and for guidance about the requirements to compete. In response to questions, comments and suggestions, we have decided to extend the contest. We will publish a more extensive call with specific challenges in the coming weeks. We’ll give you all the information about it on the GNOSSLife.

Did you know that in GNOSS you can…
work your university subjects within a community?

You know that in gnoss.com we are committed to improve and accelerate learning through the logic of networks. Last September, we launched a proposal to implement the communities and gnoss.com identities in teaching courses on college campuses. A group of professors from the Faculty of Economics of Universidad Complutense de Madrid has put the experience into practice with very good results. Do you want to know how they have lived it?

Enjoy gnoss.com! We innovate with you.

Weekly GNOSS newsletter: did you know that we work with linked data?

    Hi gnossonaut,
students who participate, teachers who innovate and teamwork. These are some of the concepts that the ‘Campus’ supplement of ‘El Mundo’ emphasizes in an article that reflects on how the ways of teaching on college campuses are changing. The article explains the gnoss.com experience of Juan de Castro, professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. The University 2.0 project serves “for managing knowledge and bring up the subjects side by side with students, that is, as part of a team”, according to the newspaper. Do you want more information about the project?
For now, the students take this new way of learning to improve their classes and start interesting conversations about their future. This is the particular case of employment contracts: the students are giving their opinion about it on the blog of the University 2.0 UCM project. What are you waiting for? They want to know what you think and talk with you. ;-)

    GNOSS guide for... open government
Administrations have changed the way they interact with people thanks to the conversation environments that the Web offers. Governments are open to the citizens to listen, share and create ideas in a collaborative and continuous exchange context. gnoss.com offers tools to promote and further develop this relational change.

Did you know that in GNOSS you can...
share your contents wherever you want?
You are working in gnoss.com. You have found a good resource in a community directed to innovation. You think that content is relevant not only to the Innova community, but also interesting to gnossonauts conversing in Convergencia Tecnológica NBIC (NBIC Converging Technologies). What can you do to make this resource available in so many communities as you consider appropriate? Something as simple as ‘Share’. This option allows you to bring the data to gnoss.com communities you’re a member of. But you can still go further. The gnoss.com data are expressed in RDF files (you can access them from an icon on the upper right corner) which let you take those data to other networks or platforms. What does all that mean? Something that Tim Berners-Lee called ‘linked data web’ or ‘linked data’, because gnoss.com is linked data web.

Enjoy GNOSS! We innovate with you.
