Informe publicado en abril de 2008 por el National Inteligence Council (NIC) de EEUU,preparado por SRI Consulting Business Intelligence y disponible en la página web del NIC http://www.dni.gov/nic/confreports_disruptive_tech.html. En el informe se identifican 6 tecnologías civiles "perturbadoras" (disruptive), entendidas como tales aquellas con potencial para causar una degradación o mejora notable (aunque sea temporal) en uno de los elementos del poder nacional de EEUU (geopolítico, militar, económico o de cohesión social). El informe presenta seis tecnologías: biogerontecnología, tecnología de almacenamiento de energía, tecnología de biocombustibles y química con base biológica, tecnología de carbón limpio, tecnología de robótica de servicios y tecnología de la información, y analiza su impacto posible en el poder de EEUU en los próximos 15 años.

These include biogerontechnology, a energy storage technology, biofuels and bio-based chemical technology, clean coal technology, service robotic technology, and information technology devoted to increased connectivity of people and things.They identified the following six technologies as most likely to enhance or degrade US national power out to 2025: Biogerontechnology.
